What it’s Like for Women in Road Freight Transport
A handful of women were recently inducted into the National Road Transport Hall of Fame in Alice Springs, including one Kapunda resident who’s been viewing Australia from the road for the past 17 years. Maralyn Bierwirth has traveled an estimated 4.2 million kilometres in her career and she wants other women to do the same.
According to Bierwirth life on the road is amazing and she wants to help other women find the confidence to break into the road freight industry.
She said women and girls with an interest in trucking shouldn’t be afraid to enter this industry as she did all those years ago and she has never regretted it.
