Wave at a Truckie

One driver, Doug Kirby is attempting to bring back mateship and fun in the industry with an initiative called Wave at a Truckie Day and as its name suggests, all it takes is a wave.

Wave at a Truckie Day was held on November 22 and all drivers were asked to do is wave at each truck they pass throughout the day.

He mentioned how truck drivers were in the habit of giving each other the 2 fingers hand on the wheel wave when he was a kid. He highlighted that this was a simple way to show respect and appreciation for people who are essentially living away from their families so that the country can be supplied with what it needs.
