Vic Road Trauma Statistics Revealed
The latest road trauma data was released by Roads and road safety minister Luke Donnellan, Transport Accident Commission (TAC) CEO Joe Calafiore and VicRoads acting CEO Peter Todd recently and it reveals that 155 people died on Victoria’s rural roads last year.
Overall the number of people killed on roads in the state dropped from 290 in 2016 to 257 last year.
- 109 fatalities were result of a crash where a vehicle left its lane
- 72 fatalities were caused by single-vehicle crashes on the roadside
- 37 fatalities were as a result of head-on collisions.
