Truck Driver Faces Charges after Fatal Collision Involving Cyclist
Truck drivers are reminded to be on the lookout for cyclists after an incident that happened on the NSW Act border recently.
A driver has been charged with the death of a cyclist after his truck collided with the cyclist.
The 49 year old cyclist from New Zealand died at the scene.
The 38 year old truck driver was not injured and was transported to hospital for mandatory testing.
The Lake Illawarra Crash Investigation Unit conducted inquiries and thereafter the truck driver was arrested and taken to the Queanbeyan police station where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death.
He was granted bail and will appear in court on March 25.
