Truck Driver Charged After Fleeing The Scene of a Fatal Crash
The truck driver who was originally feared dead after the fiery Tarrington truck crash which claimed the life of one young man, has been charged for leaving the scene of the accident.
The 51 year old truck driver from Glen Waverley was charged with failng to stop and failing to render assistance after the crash involving his prime mover and a 4WD vehicle on Glenelg Highway in Victoria’s West.
The driver fled the scene of the crash and hid in a shed of a farm nearby. He was found the next day at the farm 16km away from the scene of the crash.
The other 2 people involved in the crash were a young man who died and his teenage passenger who was critically injured.
The driver was released on bail and scheduled to appear at Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court on February 22.
