Speeding and Driving with Disqualified Licence – Truckies Arrested
A truck driver was caught allegedly driving while high on methamphetamine and tampering with the vehicle’s speed limiter at Tailem Bend along the Princes Highway.
The Victorian man was stopped by police from the Heavy Vehicle Enforcement Section.
The man was also not carrying and maintaining a work diary.
Police drug tested the man who returned a positive reading for methamphetamine. Upon further inquiries police discovered he was also driving while disqualified.
A speed limiter override device was discovered on the prime mover which allowed the truck to travel above 100km/h.The device was fitted near the engine.
