Should Lifetime Ban Drivers in WA Face Jail Time?

There have been calls for mandatory jail terms for drivers caught driving while under lifetime driving bans, following a crash that left a boy fighting for his life and 7 other family members injured.

WA State Opposition joined a road safety expert recently in calling for more stringent laws after it was revealed that the driver accused of slamming a stolen utility vehicle into the family’s van in Wilson has been banned from driving for life, despite never even possessing a driver’s licence.

Following the horrific crash, a 5 year old is fighting for his life in Perth Children’s Hospital.

The family of the boy pleaded with drivers to stay off the road if you are not fit to drive before hurting anyone.
