SA Transport Company Convicted of Manslaughter Again
The importance of vehicle maintenance has been highlighted by a case involving a South Australian transport company.
The owner of the company has been found guilty of manslaughter for the second time over the death of a driver.
The driver had warned the owner of the transport company that the brakes on the vehicle were faulty, two days later he was dead after the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a pole.
The crash happened in the south Adelaide suburb of Happy Valley in 2014.
The 45 year old driver was killed in the crash.
The court heard that the company owner had prior knowledge of the braking issue and was repeatedly warned about the problem.
Another driver at the company had a near miss due to the faulty brakes. Find out more at: https://www.ownerdriver.com.au/industry-news/1609/colbert-found-guilty-of-manslaughter-for-second-time
