Road Safety Video Reminds Us That Road Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility

A video from the New South Wales government Centre for Road Safety is reminding all road users that road safety is everyone’s responsibility and all road users need to “Be Truck Aware”.

The campaign highlights the importance of taking particular care around trucks because trucks have blindspots.

It gives the public an idea of what it’s like to be in the driver’s seat of a truck.

In the video 3 motorists are put in a truck cab and each thinks they know when its safe to move the vehicle only to discover that there was something in the truck’s blind spot.

Although truck drivers are checking blind spots and looking carefully for cars, pedestrians etc, it’s a shared responsibility and other road users also need to do their part, the video highlighted.
