Police Investigation into Luxury Coach Crash
The incident which resulted in a luxury coach crashing into a rail bridge in Melbourne recently is under investigation by police.
Out of the 15 people on the coach, eleven had to be cut free by fire crews. They were taken to hospital after the coach crashed into a low clearance bridge in South Melbourne recently.
Police are investigating how the driver missed the warning signs and lights and while VicRoads say they will review the warnings, “driver error” was mostly to blame for the crash.
Melbourne Fire Brigade Commander Andrew O’Connell expressed his thankfulness that nobody was seriously injured in the crash which could have been avoided.
He explained that the bus must have been travelling at considerable speed to have resulted in such extensive damage to the bus. Luckily all passengers were freed within an hour and no serious injuries occurred.
