Heavy Vehicle Drivers Urged to Prioritise Fatigue this Easter

As Easter approaches heavy vehicle drivers are being reminded to Focus on Fatigue as the roads get busy.

Sal Petroccitto, NHVR CEO said the regulator would be launching a campaign with messages from real drivers passing on information and solutions to avoid the risks of driving fatigued.

He said fatigue would be a major focus for heavy vehicle operators during the lead up to Easter, a major holiday period when the roads become extremely busy.

With the use of online messages and videos of drivers, the NHVR will be sharing advice and experiences to help drivers avoid the risks of fatigued driving.

During the lead-up to Easter the additional traffic and freight movements will mean drivers must be able to recognise the signs of fatigue and avoid driving with fatigued.
