Fatigue Involved in Truck and Car Collision

A teenage girl was hospitalised and left fighting for her life after a collision between a car and truck on the Fraser Coast.

Fatigue has been blamed for the collision, with initial investigations revealing that the car was on the wrong side of the road at the time of the impact.

Witnesses say the truck driver did his best to move out of the way and avoid crashing but he was unsuccessful in his attempts.

Two people had to be airlifted to hospital, a 17 year old girl who was the passenger in the back seat of the car is in critical condition. The driver of the car suffered major leg injuries.
