B-Double and Crane Crash Closes Highway

Two drivers were fortunate to escape with only minor injuries after their heavy vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of the M1 at Brooklyn in January.

The crane and B-Double collided and burst into flames about 2km south of the Hawkesbury River, it is hard to believe the drivers weren’t seriously injured.

The road remained closed for several hours as the fire was distinguished and vehicles blocked all lanes of the road.

One driver was taken to Gosford Hospital with minor injuries and the second driver was not injured.Despite the inconvenience caused as traffic was diverted, thankfully there were no fatalities.
