New Tow Truck Legislation comes into Effect
New legislation has come into effect targeting rogue tow truck operators in Queensland.
The legislation has been welcomed by Queensland’s main motoring body RACQ. The new law is aimed at stopping tow truck operators from strong arming drivers into paying high fees for private property towing from car parks.
Tow truck drivers would only be able to charge a capped amount of $250 for a private property tow and would not be allowed to charge more than $25 a day for yard storage.
