Compliance Raid Following Fatal Truck Crash
Following a fatal truck crash near Berrima recently, the NSW Joint Traffic Taskforce officers conducted a trucking company compliance inspection.
The truck collided with an ute recently after the truck ran through the median strip on the Hume Freeway. It was the second major crash in the region in a matter of days.
Although the NSW Police would not confirm the company’s identity, they did examine 21 trucks and trailers during the south-west Sydney operation, these were the results.
During the operation four electronic speed limiter downloads were conducted and all proved to be compliant and from the 16 breath tests and 14 drug tests conducted, all tested negative.
There was only one vehicle issued with a major defect notice and grounded for a steering issue. There was also one driver who was issued a field court attendance notice for work diary offences.
