Dangerous Driver Taken off The Road

A driver caught driving dangerously, speeding and drink driving on a stretch of highway that has become notorious, has been taken off the roads for a year.

The driver pleaded guilty to driving at a dangerous speed and drink driving in Mildura Magistrates Court recently.

The man was driving with a blood alcohol level of .08 while driving more than 45km/h over the 60km  per hour speed limit.

Following a double fatality crash on the stretch of road, the speed limit was reduced from 80km/h to 60km/h.

The driver was fined $1200 and had his licence cancelled for 12 months, after his friends supposedly took him out drinking, he said.
