Safety Blitz Results in 15 Defect Notices

NSW Police once again targeted safety and compliance, this time for tipper and dog combinations during Operation Catapult.

Officers intercepted and checked vehicles at Rosehill, west of Sydney, near the WestConnex construction sites.

Officers had intercepted 29 trucks and trailers before noon and identified 15 defects. Defects included brake imbalance, air leaks, exhaust leaks and smooth tyres.

Two of the trucks intercepted were given red defect notices for major issues with brakes.

NSW Police said the safety message seems to be getting through with no licence or drug offences identified during the operation.There was only one minor overweight found.
