NHVR New Database for National Maintenance Compliance
The Technical and Maintenance Conference was recently held in Melbourne and one of the issues that was raised at the conference was the development of a national maintenance compliance database by the NHVR.
The regulator said it was looking to the state of NSW as an example, with the state having already developed a successful, similar system.
NSW RMS collects information to target specific operators and the state has invested more than any others in heavy vehicle checking stations, staff and technology.
RMS develops profiles on operators which leads to higher risk operators being targeted because they record penalty notices higher than the state average.
