Heavy Vehicle Regulator Begins NT and WA Leg of Survey
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) has commenced its roadworthiness survey inspections in WA and the NT.
The NHVR has completed its inspections as part of the survey in other states including NSW, Victoria and Tasmania and is on its final leg of inspections at the moment.
The National Roadworthiness Baseline Survey (NRBS) has been well received by the industry with some operators even making the effort to engage inspectors to come inspect their fleet.
As the NHVR’s executive director for productivity and safety, Geoff Casey explained, the survey has important implications not only for the regulator but for industry operators as well, which is why they are so eager to participate.
It is anticipated that the survey will sample up to 9000 heavy vehicles, including buses, road trained, rigid, articulated, B-doubles and plant equipment.
