If You Drive, Operate, Service, or Load Trucks You Are Accountable for Speeding
In what should serve as a warning for the transport industry, the NSW police have issued notices to a Victorian driver for allegedly avoiding speed limiting requirements.
A defect notice has been issued for a truck which police allege can exceed speeds of 134.9km/h, as part of Operation Impact.
The vehicle was registered in Victoria however it was stopped by NSW police on the Sturt Highway, south of Hay.
NSW Traffic & Highway Patrol Command assistant commissioner John Hartley reminded the transport industry that anyone that drives, operates, services of loads trucks will be held accountable for trucks that contravene the 100km/h speed limit.
