Truck Collides with Train and Overturns

Chincilla on the western Darling Downs was the recent site of a crash involving a truck and train. The truck collided with the train before overturning.

The accident happened on Cemetery Road around 3:30pm, when police believe the truck failed to stop at a level crossing. The truck’s rear trailer clipped the train before overturning and destroying a light post.

Police say exposure of live-wires will probably result in the crossing being closed for several hours while police and Queensland Rail carrying out their investigations.

Thankfully neither the truck or train driver were injured in the incident and the truck wasn’t transporting any goods at the time.
