Does your organisation have a Speed Management Procedure?
The Speed Management Procedure sets out the processes and requirements of the Speed Risk Management Framework, key responsibilities, and supporting records, policies and procedures.
The Speed Risk Management Framework will contain the same set of stages as the Risk management Procedure and Fatigue Management Procedure.
Use the checklist below as a guide to develop or validate your Speed Management Procedure.
Does your Speed Management Procedure include the following stages:
- the purpose and scope of the procedure;
- the stages of the Speed Risk Management Framework;
- a detailed explanation of the processes and requirements of each stage of the Speed Risk Management Framework;
- key roles and detailed responsibilities involved in the Speed Risk Management Framework ;
- key records and reporting outputs of the Speed Risk Management Framework; and
- Requirements for regular monitoring, review and audit of the Speed Risk Management Framework.
The purpose of speed management is to identify and assess potential speed-related risks before they occur so that risk treatment measures can be implemented which either eliminate the risk entirely (where practicable), or reduce the likelihood that the risk will occur or reduce the potential adverse consequences of the risk.
