Warrego Highway to Get New Truck Bays due to Government Funding
The Queensland and federal governments have provided $75 million in funding towards upgrading of the Warrego Highway including establishments of new truck bays.
The upgrade is made up of 2 projects including the $63.6 million Dalby-Miles Pavement Widening and Safety Upgrades project and the $11.7 million Oakey-Miles Safety Upgrade.
Four safety elements were identified during roadside safety reviews along the roadway and the 2 projects which will be delivered together, incorporate all 4 of these safety elements.
There will be 6 new car and truck stopping bays established between Oakley and Miles. There will also be trees removed within the clear zones to reduce off-road crashes.
