Son of Crash Victim Wants Trucks Banned During Peak Hours
The son of the Sydney woman killed by an out-of-control truck wants heavy vehicles banned from roads during peak hour.
The 26 year old man, Leon Jazairy, says no family should go through what he and his family have, after spending Christmas and the holidays without his mother, Khristiee Aravena who died after she was struck by a truck as she waited at a set of traffic lights on Botany Rd in Alexandria.
Several pedestrians including the 44 year old woman was struck by the truck as it crashed through traffic lights and into a building.
The man said he believed heavy vehicles should be driven only at night when there is less traffic and less pedestrians around.
It is believed the truck driver may have suffered a medical episode while driving causing the crash.
