Road Closed as Truck Crash Leaves Debris Hanging on Overpass

A truck trailer was left dangling over the side of a Melbourne north overpass with its contents strewn across the roadway.

The incident on the Calder Freeway north of Melbourne caused major traffic delays after the truck struck a side barrier on the Green Gully Road overpass at Keilor.

The driver was taken to Footscray Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Thankfully there were no other injuries.

The cause of the crash has yet to be determined however a VicRoads spokesman Andrew Crook said the truck had rolled, causing the trailer to go over the barrier, dangling over the road below.

The truck was transporting chicken products and the entire contents was spilled onto the freeway below.
